APPROACH DELIVERING THE LEARNING AND TEACHING STRATEGY
A focused set of cross-institutional initiatives and developments will be progressed in support of the Learning and Teaching Strategy 2018-2025. It
is essential that these activities are co-ordinated, planned and managed both institutionally and locally, and there are critical, underpinning elements, Enablers, which are essential to delivering the Vision and Priorities
(eg technology; infrastructure (space, facilities); staff resource; academic practice support) and supporting the development of the HWU Graduate as the end point of the Strategy.
These Vision and Priorities will not
be progressed in isolation: alignment and integration between Curriculum- Teaching-Assessment and a collective, concerted conviction in Inspiring Learning and Learning to Learn
are essential to delivering the HWU Graduate as envisaged. Activities will, wherever possible, be progressed through a few, major overarching initiatives in preference to disparate, smallscale actions.
This Strategy will be delivered through a partnership approach between students and staff (Schools and Professional Services) in all locations and with external stakeholders such as employers and professional bodies. Ongoing engagement with HWU’s global community is integral to the success of the Strategy throughout its seven-year timeframe.
The implementation of the Strategy will be monitored and evaluated annually through the University’s Key Learning and Teaching Performance Indicators as well as a series of qualitative and quantitative measures specific to the Vision and Priorities. These performance measures, which will enable targets to be set where appropriate, will be outlined in the Learning and Teaching Strategy Operational Plan.
